Apprentice Ensemble Project

The Galway Ensemble-in-Residence Apprentice Ensemble Project collaborates with local and national music organisations, educational institutions and individual musicans to invite musicians the opportunity to become the Apprentice Ensemble and work directly with ConTempo String Quartet for one year.  In 2009, the Galway Ensemble-in-Residence had the pleasure of having four musicians/teachers from Galway City and County Galway as its Apprentice Ensemble - The SoundPost Quartet.  SoundPost were mentored by ConTempo during the year, had access to rehearsal space, received administrative support and performed with the ConTempo in two public performances in Galway, which were very well attended.

The SoundPost Quartet are:
